Manufacturing Process
Part I – Oil Phase
Charge white soft paraffin, liquid paraffin, cetomacrogol
and cetomacrogol and cetostearyl alcohol to a suitable vessel. Heat to melt and
maintain a temperature of 70o – 75o C
Part II – Aquous phase
Dissolve Sodium Acid Phosphate, Chlorocresol and Phosporic
Acid in the Distiled Water and maintain a temperature of 65o – 75o
C.
1.
Add oil phase to Aquous Phase and stir for 15
minutes, start cooling and cool to 45o – 46o C.
2.
Cool the batch by further cooling and attain a
temperature of 40o – 42o C.
3.
Dissolve Gentamycin Sulphate in water and add to
the batch at 42o – 42o C.
4.
Check the pH and adjust to 4.8 to 4.9 (limit 4.5
to 5.5).
